World Health Day

World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Depression as the theme for 2017 with a slogan ‘Depression: Let’s Talk’.

What is Depression?

Depression is a common mental illness identified by persistent sadness which affects a person’s quality of life, ability to perform daily activities, and interest in enjoyable activities for at least 2 weeks. It affects people of all ages and gender and about 6% of the elderly population in Singapore found to have depression. More than 300 million people affected worldwide.
