X-ray is a common type of medical imaging that produces images of the structures inside your body as X-ray beams penetrates through it. An X-ray can be used to examine different body parts such as the chest or pelvis for various diagnostic reasons such as assessment of possible infections or injury management.

FAQ

Bring along any referral forms, photo identification (e.g. NRIC/Work Permit/Employment Pass/S Pass/Passport), and any prior X-Ray films or reports for a more accurate diagnosis.

There is no special preparation needed for general x-ray screenings.

There should be no pain involved whilst performing an X-ray. Please inform our nurses or staffs if you experience pain during the session.

Please consult your doctor if they are pregnant or unsure. An unborn baby may be affected by radiation. Your doctor will discuss other available alternatives with you.

Audiometry

An Audiometry test is a hearing test that assesses your ability to hear sounds at different frequencies and intensities. It can be used to monitor a person’s hearing abilities over time.

During the test, you will wear a headset and hear various sounds at different frequencies and intensities. A hearing test is painless and can be completed within 20 mins.

Audiometry test

FAQ

NID refers to a permanent loss in hearing sensitivity. NID can lead to communication difficulties and adversely impact the quality of life.

It is recommended that you avoid any exposure to loud noises at least 16 hours before your appointment.

Air conduction audiometry is a basic test that lets you listen to different beeps and whistles to determine the softest sound you could hear. Bone conduction audiometry is a more detailed test that enables you to know exactly where the hearing problem lies in the ear.

For some individuals who are exposed to noise in their daily jobs, it is regulated that they undergo periodic SME (Statutory Medical Examination) Audiometry tests. These results need to be submitted to the Ministry of Manpower. A summary report will be provided to the company for MOM submission.

AcuMed Medical provides both in-house and on-site audiometric services to our corporate clients. Abnormal results will be reviewed and appropriate recommendations will be given thereafter.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound services

Ultrasound is an imaging modality that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. These images can provide valuable information to guide screening, diagnoses and management of various diseases and conditions.

FAQ

We suggest wearing a loose-fitting top and bottom. Also, refrain from applying body lotion & powders or wearing metallic objects such as jewellery and watches as it might affect the ultrasound scan. Prior fasting or drinking of plain water may be required. We will advise on the necessary preparation needed after confirmation of your appointment.
